Join our Academic Governance Committee
The Academic Governance Committee at the Irish College of English convenes twice a year to oversee and enhance the academic standards and policies of our institution. Comprising of teaching staff, academic staff, administrators, and a student representative, this committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for our students.
Being a part of the Academic Governance Committee offers students a unique opportunity to:
Advocate for Their Peers: As a student representative, individuals have the chance to voice the concerns, suggestions, and perspectives of their fellow students including junior students, ensuring that their voices are heard at the highest levels of decision-making.
Contribute to Academic Excellence: By actively participating in discussions and decisions regarding curriculum development, assessment methods, and academic policies, students can contribute to maintaining and enhancing the quality of education provided by the college.
Gain Leadership and Governance Skills: Serving on the Academic Governance Committee provides valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, and governance, which are highly transferable skills applicable in various personal and professional settings.
Shape the Future of the ICE: Students have the opportunity to influence the direction and future initiatives of the school, playing a role in shaping an environment that promotes learning, innovation, and student success.
In essence, being part of the Academic Governance Committee empowers students to make a meaningful impact on their educational journey and contribute to the overall academic excellence of the Irish College of English.
