Course Purpose and Intended Learning Outcomes – Junior Summer Camps
Purpose
The purpose of our Junior Programmes is to provide young learners with an engaging and supportive environment to improve their English language skills. By following a structured syllabus based on the CEFR scale, the camp aims to help students achieve measurable progress in their language proficiency. These programmes are designed not only to enhance students’ academic abilities but also to build their confidence and enthusiasm for using English in everyday situations. Through interactive activities such as group discussions, roleplays, and projects, along with an intercultural element that exposes students to diverse cultures and perspectives, the camp seeks to create a holistic learning experience. In addition, for those staying with host families, the immersion will provide authentic opportunities to practise English and engage in cultural exchange, further enriching their understanding and appreciation of the language and its cultural context.
Intended Learning Outcomes
The intended learning outcomes for our Junior Programmes, is to enhance students’ proficiency in English by advancing their skills along the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale. Through a dynamic and immersive syllabus, students will develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities, aiming to progress their language competence along to current CEFR Level or to the next CEFR level depending on their entry level and time on the programme. The course will focus on practical communication, vocabulary expansion, and grammatical accuracy, ensuring students gain confidence and fluency in real-life contexts while fostering a love for the English language.
